Quality of Life Outcomes Questionnaire

The Scale

The EDQLS has 40 items about the quality of the respondent’s life that are rated on a 5-point Likert scale (Strongly Agree through Strongly Disagree). There are 3 items in each of 12 domains (except for the eating domain which has 6).

EDQLS Domains

The domains are: school/work, family and close relationships, relationships with others, future, feelings, appearance, leisure, values and beliefs, cognitive, physical health, psychological health and eating.

In keeping with current theory on quality of life measurement, the assessment tool also solicits an importance rating for each domain which gives us the best of both worlds—standard measurement combined with individual assessment.
